World Languages

The first year of Spanish incorporates the four skills of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Spanish I

Spanish is the official language of 20 countries and is widely spoken in many more. The Unites States is the 5th largest Spanish speaking community in the world!

Simi Valley Unified School District uses the McDougall-Littel series in Spanish I. This is a standards based program that introduces students to the first year of Spanish and incorporates the four skills of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Successful completion of Spanish I with a C or better will allow students to enroll in Spanish II in 9th grade.
